Linzie Bugg
Linzie has a background in emergent, acute/chronic care, behavioral health, wounds, surgical pre/post-op care and geriatrics. For five years, she specialized in Long-Term Care (LTC) surveying and uses that experience to empower facilities with the knowledge needed to care for their residents, while meeting CMS regulations. She found that educating LTC facilities on steps to ensure CMS guidelines were met was more effective than simply documenting that they were operating poorly. By focusing on nursing home quality improvement, Linzie has been able to put her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southwestern College to good use. Over the years, Linzie’s contributions to nursing home facility improvement have garnered recognition from many LTC’s administration and staff, helping to create a positive culture in surveying. Her in-depth knowledge of the survey process has helped educate and organize nursing facility processes to ensure better outcomes, not only for residents, but in the actual survey process related to recertification of a facility. She also has extensive experience with plans of correction for deficient practices, and the processes needed to rectify the deficiencies.
